Leaving Sunday Morning

We decided to leave the harbor on Sunday morning. Currently the wind is blowing extremely and once in a while the rain joins the wind with a lot of water. Even the ferries and the airports stopped their services. More than 180 planes were cancelled. And also the AIDA cruise boat stayed in Lanzarote for an extra 4 days. On the pictures below you see the wind map for today and for tomorrow. And clearly you can see that leaving today would be crazy. I cannot wait to throw off the bowlines. Klaus and Rüdiger try to warn me for the big waves after a big storm. But that does not matter for me. I want start sailing.

Meanwhile I talked to many other sailors around me. And somehow it seems to me that I am a guest in a different world. Everyone is a dropout from their life and totally independent from time. All of them are on their boat since at least spring this year. That is crazy. Actually I am kinda jealous on their life style. 🙂
